The Red Raiders got spanked by No. 1 Kansas 89-63 back on January 16th. The Jayhawks limited Texas Tech to 32.9 percent field goal shooting and won the battle of the boards 44 to 28. Sophomore forward Marcus Morris had 20 points and eight rebounds (five offensive) for Coach Self in the easy route.
The Jayhawks earned a first round bye in the conference tournament by virtue of their 15-1 record against Big 12 opposition. They closed out their regular season schedule with a 77-56 beating of the Missouri Tigers in Columbia on Saturday.
Kansas, despite its thrashing of Tech this season, should be on its toes for today's matchup. The Red Raiders scored a shocking 84-65 upset against the Hawks in Lubbock last year.
