The Hawks, which trailed 35-38 at the break, hit 28 of their 50 shot sttempts for the game, including 10-of-18 from long range. Sherron Collins led the way for Kansas, scoring 26 points while dishing out six assists. 

In seven previous trips to the Big 12 Tournament Championship Game, the Jayhawks have lost just one time (fell 55-64 to Oklahoma in 2002 final). They won the other six contests by an average of 13.8 points per game.
