NCAA Bracket Predictions 2010: The regions are finally set and the first round match ups have been penciled in, which means the madness is just beginning. In the East Region, No. 2 Kentucky is the top seed with West Virginia, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Temple rounding out the top five. NCAA Bracket Predictions 2010 at online bookmaker Sportsbook.com have the Wildcats listed as the favorite in the region to win the National Championship at +300 moneyline odds.

Kentucky, which meets 16 seed East Tennessee State at 7:15pm ET on Thursday night, has lived up to the hype all seasonNCAA Bracket Predictions 2010 long. The Wildcats, under the direction of John Calipari, only lost two times, at South Carolina and at Tennessee, and they enter the NCAA Tournament riding a five game win streak and winners of the SEC Tournament. Kentucky has four players who average double figures in scoring and they are led by two of the top freshmen in the nation in guard John Wall (16.9 pts, 6.4 ast) and forward DeMarcus Cousins (15.3 pts, 10.1 reb).

West Virginia, the two seed here, is listed at +1000 moneyline odds to win the National Championship. The Mountaineers had a brilliant season, going 27-6, and they come into the NCAA's red hot after winning six in a row and claiming the Big East Torunament title. Bob Huggins' team is led by senior forward Da'Sean Butler, who averages almost 18 points per game, and sophomores Devin Ebanks (11.8 pts, 8.2 reb) and Kevin Jones (13.5 pts, 7.1 reb). West Virginia has proven itself against tough competition as well, beating fellow tournament squads Notre Dame, Georgetown, Villanova, Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Ohio State, and Marquette during the regular season.

A potential dark horse in the East is Ivy League school Cornell (13 seed). The Big Red had only four losses all season long and they are loaded with sharp shooting senior talent. If anything makes a team dangerous in the NCAA's, it is the ability to get hot from the outside and shoot past superior size and athleticism. Cornell, which lost to both Syracuse and Kansas during the regular season, came within five points of the Jayhawks in Lawrence.
