ACC powerhouse North Carolina is the only top seed not from the Big East Conference as Pittsburgh, Connecticut and Louisville were selected on Sunday as the top seeds in the 2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament. After winning the Big East Tournament title game, the Louisville Cardinals (28-5) received the top overall No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region and 1st overall. Despite having won two prior National Championships, the last time Louisville was a top seed was all the way back in 1983. The North Carolina Tar Heels (28-4) have secured a No. 1 seed for the fifth straight season and sit atop the South Regional bracket. If UNC can get out of the South Regional, they would potentially play Pittsburgh in a potential Final Four showdown.
