The online bookmaker currently has the number one South seed, the North Carolina Tar Heels, listed as the favorite to win the 2008-2009 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament at +300 moneyline odds..
East Regional March Madness Predictions: The Big East's Pittsburgh Panthers are the number one seed in the East Regional after completing the regular season with a 28-4 record and a second place finish in what is largely viewed as the nation's toughest conference. Jamie Dixon's squad is currently listed at +600 moneyline odds to win the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers lost their last game as the West Virginia Mountaineers dismissed them from the Big East Tournament by means of a 74-60 defeat.
The number two seed in the East Regional is ACC Tournament Champion, Duke. The Blue Devils, at +1500 moneyline odds to win the tournament, are not the only squad that the Panthers need to be leery about. Lurking in the shadows also are the fifth seeded Florida State Seminoles, the seventh seeded Texas Longhorns, and the third seeded Villanova Wildcats.
South Regional March Madness Predictions: No surprise here, the North Carolina Tar Heels earned the top seed after winning the regular season ACC title and coming away victorious in 28 of their 34 games. The Tar Heels, however, do have some concerns as they enter tournament play. Point guard Ty Lawson is still dealing with a toe injury that kept him out of the ACC Tournament and they did not play well in either of their last two games, a 79-76 win over Virginia Tech and a 70-73 loss to Florida State.
Who does Carolina need to worry about in the South Region? The most obvious team would appear to be the number two seeded Oklahoma Sooners and Blake Griffin (+1200 odds to win the NCAA Tournament).
Midwest Regional March Madness Predictions: The Big East regular season and tournament champ, Louisville, garnered the number one seed in the Midwest. The Cardinals won their 10th straight game on Saturday night when they overcame Syracuse 76-66 in the championship game of the Big East tournament at Madison Square Garden. Rick Pitino's squad is listed at +500 moneyline odds to win this year's college basketball championship.
The Cardinals have a tough road to Detroit, if they are to get there. The Midwest Region is littered with healthy competiton in the form of teams like three seed defending National Champion Kansas, two seed Michigan State, and four seed Wake Forest.
West Regional March Madness Predictions: Another number one seed, another Big East team. Yes, Connecticut is the fourth and final top seed in this year's tournament. The Huskies are not playing their best basketball at the moment, having lost two in a row and three of their last six, but their body of work is extraordinary nonetheless. Jim Calhoun's troops, listed at +700 odds to win the NCAATournament, finished the year with a 27-4 overall record and a 15-3 mark in conference action.
Who might have the Huskies feeling a little nervous out West? Aside from second seeded 31-3 Memphis, Connecticut has no doubt taken notice of Big 12 Tournament champion Missouri at the three seed and their fellow Huskies, Washington, in the four spot.
Regular March Madness Predictions action gets under way on Thursday at 12:25pm ET when 15th seed Cal State Northridge takes on two seed Memphis in Kansas City, MO at the Sprint Center. The Tigers are currently listed as a -19 against the spread favorite versus the Matadors at Sportsbook.com.
