South three-seed Baylor of the Big 12 will play 14-seed Sam Houston State of the Southland in opening round Thursday action at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans. The winner of the Baylor/Sam Houston game will advance to play the winner of the 6/11 matchup of Notre Dame of the Big East and Colonial Conference power Old Dominion. Notre Dame is lined as a single-point favorite for their game with the dangerous Monarchs.

Fourth-seed Purdue of the Big Ten and 13-seed Siena travel to the Pacific Northwest on Friday to play their opening round game of the South Regional at Memorial Arena in Spokane, Wash. The Boilermakers are listed as 4-chalk favorites versus the Saints. The winer of the Purdue/Sienna contest will advance to play the victor of the battle of Aggies – five-seed Texas A&M versus 12-seed Utah State. Texas A&M is a 3-chalk favorite according to Bodog.com oddsmakers.
