The Chattanooga Mocs have earned a Thursday meeting with the top seed in the West Region, the Connecticut Huskies. The David versus Goliath matchup is set to tip off at 3:00pm ET at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  If the Mocs, who are listed at +250000 moneyline odds to win the National Championship, become the first 16 seed to oust a one seed, they will face the winner of the BYU/Texas A&M contest.

Connecticut has to feel pretty good about their chances to get Head Coach Jim Calhoun another Final Four appearance. The reason? They will not face the Pittsburgh Panthers unless the two teams meet in the championship game. Pitt knocked the Huskies from their first place Big East perch this year by beating them twice. UConn, 27-4, finished 15-3 in league action and third in the conference standings as a result.

The Huskies, who have dropped two games in a row headed into the NCAA Tournament, fell to Syracuse 117-127 in a six overtime game in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. Connecticut is still listed at +800 moneyline odds to win the national title.

Center Hasheem Thabeet is the biggest presence on the team, both literally and figuratively, as the 7'3'' junior averages 13.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game.

Chattanooga earned an NCAA Tournament birth by capturing the Southern Conference Tournament championship last Monday night. The Mocs defeated Charleston 80-69 to run their overall record to 18-16. They finished the regular season with an 11-9 mark in league play and won the North division title in the Southern Conference.

The Mocs, who are 0-1 in neutral site games this year, are averaging 76.8 points per game on the season. They are led by guard Stephen McDowell, who averages 18.6 points per game.
