The 13 seed Akron Zips will meet the four seed Gonzaga Bulldogs on Thursday night at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The South Region game is set to tip off at 7:25pm ET and will be televised on CBS. Should the Bulldogs prevail, they will face the winner of the Illinois/Western Kentucky matchup.

Gonzaga asserted their normal dominance in the West Coast Conference this season as they stormed through the league with a unblemished 14-0 record. The Zags also won the WCC tournament on March 9th with a resounding 83-58 defeat of the St. Mary's Gaels. The victory moved the Bulldogs overall record to 26-5 on the year.
Mark Few's troops, which have won nine games in a row coming into the NCAA Tournament, are listed at +600 moneyline odds to win the South Region. The Bulldogs are led by forwards Josh Heytvelt and Matt Bouldin who combine for 28.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
The Zips, who finished third in the MAC standings during the regular season with a 10-6 conference record, found their way to the NCAA Tournament via a championship run in the MAC Tournament. Akron won four games in a row against league foes, capped by a 65-53 victory against Buffalo last Saturday. They enter Thursday's game with a 23-12 overall record.
Akron, who averaged 66.8 points per game during the season, is 4-0 in neutral site games this year. The Zips, like the Bulldogs, find their strength on the blocks. Forwards Brett McKnight and Nate Linhart pour in 21.5 points per game while snagging 9.8 boards per outing.
