Utah State vs Texas A&M 2010 NCAA Bracket Picks: Twelve seed Utah State will take on five seed Texas A&M this afternoon at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Washington. The South Region contest is set to tip at 4:45pm ET on CBS. 2010 NCAA Bracket Picks at online sportsbook Bookmaker.com have Texas A&M listed as a -3 against the spread favorite.
Utah State took care of business in the WAC this season, winning the conference with an impressive
14-2 league record. The Aggies did not, however, capture the conference tournament crown as they had a 17 game win streak snapped in the championship game by a tough New Mexico State squad (63-69).
Utah State has a guard heavy lineup, but they are led in scoring and rebounding by junior forward Tai Wesley, who averages 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Senior guard Jared Quayle is a nice compliment to Wesley, producing an average of 12.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
Texas A&M finished fourth in the Big 12 this year with a 23-9 overall record and an 11-5 tally in conference play. The Aggies had a four game win streak broken up in their last outing, falling 66-79 to Kansas in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Texas A&M, which is led by senior guard Donald Sloan (18.2 points per game), went 7-9 against fellow NCAA Tournament teams this season. The Aggies also went 3-2 in a neutral site slate that included meetings with Clemson, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Kansas.
