Two potential Cinderellas will square off this afternoon at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. The Southwest Region's 12th and 13th seeded teams, Richmond and Morehead State, are scheduled to tip off at 5:15pm ET on CBS. College Basketball Lines have the Spiders listed as a -4.5 against the spread college basketball picks favorite and the Over/Under set at 126.
Morehead State, the Ohio Valley Conference tournament winner, scored the biggest upset of the NCAA Tournament thus far
with a 62-61 win over the fourth seeded Louisville Cardinals.
The Eagles, which have won four straight games, shot just 36.8 percent from the field against Rick Pitino's squad, but they did get off nine more shots in the game. Morehead State also hit five more free throws and outrebounded the Cardinals 33 to 27.
Three Eagles scored in double figures in the stunning win, including forward Kenneth Faried, who tallied 12 points and 17 rebounds.
Richmond, despite its seeding, was a slight two point dog in its Thursday matchup with Vanderbilt. The Spiders 69-66 victory over the Commodores was hardly shocking given the team's long range reputation.
Richmond certainly lived up to its billing, nailing 12 of its 24 three point attempts to end Vandy's NCAA Tournament run. The Spiders accuracy from beyond the arc enabled them to overcome a 12 rebound deficit as well as a 5-for-12 effort at the free throw line.
Kevin Anderson, the team's second leading scorer, dropped in a game high 25 points against the Commodores. Anderson, who also had four assists, hit 4-of-9 from three point range.
This afternoon's winner will move on to play the either top seeded Kansas or ninth seeded Illinois next week.
