In approximately two hours the Robert Morris Colonials and the Michigan State Spartans will square off against each other at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The second seeded Spartans are a heavy favorite coming into tonight's game, should they beat the Colonials they will move on to face either USC or Boston College in the Midwest Region.

Robert Morris finished first in the Northeast Conference this season after accumulating a 15-3 record against their league brethren. The Colonials were not satisfied with a regular season crown, however, and they assured themselves of an NCAA Tournament bid by winning the conference championship last Wednesday night. Robert Morris took out nemesis Mount St. Mary's 48-46 in the tournament finale.
The Colonials, who have won five straight games, averaged 70.7 points per game this season while yielding an average of 65 per contest to opponents. They are led by guard Jeremy Chappell; the senior averaged 16.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this year.
Michigan State returned to Big 10 glory this season, wrapping up another first place finish in the conference by winning 15 of the 18 games they played against league foes. The Spartans closed out the season with a 26-6 overall record after bowing out of the Big 10 championship early. Tom Izzo's squad lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes 70-82 in the tournament semifinals.
Michigan State, which averaged 71.9 points per game this year, garnered a 5-3 record in neutral games. The Spartans, who had only two players average double figures in points, are led by guard Kalin Lucas. Lucas averaged 14.8 points and 4.4 assists per game during the regular season.
