The Utah State Aggies and the Marquette Golden Eagles are scheduled to do battle in Boise, Idaho today. The West Region opening round game between the 11 seed and six seed will tip off at 12:30pm ET at the Taco Bell Arena. The winner will advance to play either Cornell or Missouri on Sunday.

Marquette looked to be on track for a Big East title earlier in the year, but the Eagles fell on hard times in more recent weeks. In fact, they closed out the season by losing five of their last six games. The result of their late season sputtering was a respectable fifth place finish in conference with a 12-6 record against league foes and a 24-9 overall mark.
Marquette was eliminated from last week's Big East tournament 75-76 in the quarterfinals by Villanova.
The Golden Eagles, who were 2-3 in neutral site games this year, average 78.8 points per game while giving up 69.5 in return. They have four starters that average double figures in scoring, led by guards Jerel McNeal and Wesley Matthews. The two standout performers combine for 38.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.
Eagles point guard and leading assist man (5.1 per game), Dominic James, is out of the NCAA Tournament with a foot injury.
Utah State captured both the Western Athletic Conference regular season and post-season crowns this year. The Aggies went 14-2 in league play to win the regular season title and they beat Nevada 72-62 last Saturday night to secure the WAC tournament championship. Their prowess in league play helped them garner a 30-4 overall record.
The Aggies, who have won four games in a row entering today's contest, are 3-1 in neutral site games this season. Utah State averaged 72.9 points per game in the regular season and they had three players average double figures in scoring. Senior forward Gary Wilkinson led the way at 17.1 per outing.
