The 10th seeded Maryland Terrapins will take on the West Region's number two seed, the Memphis Tigers, today in Kansas City, Missouri. The tip off is scheduled for 3:20pm ET at the Sprint Center. The winner of today's contest will advance to the round of 16 where they will face either Missouri or Marquette.

The Maryland Terrapins, who earned a 10 seed as a result of their inconsistent play during the regualr season, took out the California Golden Bears rather handily on Thursday afternoon in Kansas City. The 84-71 victory was the Terps third in their last four games and it improved their neutral site record to 5-3 on the year.
Gary Williams' troops moved their overall record to 21-13 with their dismantling of the Bears and they increased their season scoring average to 71.8 per game. Maryland's leading scorer, guard Greivis Vasquez, came up big once again for his squad as he poured in a game-high 27 points on 10-of-21 field goal shooting. As a team the Terps hit 31 of their 63 field goal attempts for a cool 49.2 percent.
Memphis survived a scrappy Cal-State Northridge squad on Thursday at the Sprint Center. The Tigers eventually beat the Matadors 81-70 but they found out early on it would not be an easy task. Still, a win is a win and Memphis' triumph just happened to be their 26th in a row. John Calipari's team is now 32-3 on the year as a result.
The Tigers shot 49.2 percent as a team against the Matadors and they hit 39.3 percent of their shots from beyond the arc. Tyreke Evans got in foul trouble early on for Memphis, but little used guard Roburt Sallie more than filled in in his absence. Sallie scored a career high 35 points after connecting on 10-of-15 from downtown.
