Louisville hit 43 percent from the field against Cal's defense, but managed just 26 percent from long range and 55.6 percent from the free throw line.
Duke recorded its fifth straight win on Friday, blasting 16 seed and play-in game winner Arkansas-Pine Bluff 73-44. The Blue Devils stingy defense proved too much for the Lions as Arkansas-Pine Bluff had 16 turnovers and shot just 32 percent for the game (4-of-19 three point range for 21 percent). Duke also controlled the glass out-rebounding the Lions 37 to 22.
Offensively, the Blue Devils had four players in double figures, led by forward Kyle Singler's 22. Singler, who also snagged 10 rebounds, hit seven of his 12 shot attempts, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
The Dukies have not lost since falling 72-79 at Maryland on March 3rd; they have won their last five games by an average of 9.4 points per game.
