Syracuse snapped a two game losing streak on Friday, easily disposing of 16 seed Vermont 79-56 to improve to 29-4 on
the year. The Orange shot lights out as a team, hitting 54.5 percent from the field and 10-of-22 from beyond the arc. They also put on a tremendous defensive display, blocking eight shots and rounding up eight steals while holding the Catamounts to just 34.8 percent shooting.

Gonzaga rebounded from its conference tournament loss to St. Mary's by beating nine seed Florida State 67-60 on Friday. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Seminoles 38 to 27 and limited Leonard Hamilton's squad to just 35.6 percent shooting on the night. Offensively, Mark Few's troops hit 50 percent from the floor, despite making just 3-of-10 shot attempts from three point range.
The Zags leading scorer, senior guard Matt Bouldin, helped his team survive a strong second half push from FSU as he scored 14 of his team high 17 after the break.
Only two of the Bulldogs five losses this season have been by more than seven points. Duke drubbed them 76-41 in mid-December and the aforementioned Gaels put an 82-61 whipping on them in last week's WCC Tournament Championship.
