Maryland got by a dangerous Houston team on Friday, topping the Cougars 89-77 despite a 26 point effort from Aubrey Coleman, the nation's leading scorer. The Terrapins did so by dominating the glass as they out-rebounded Tom Penders club 47 to 26. Maryland also had four players in double figures, led by front court mates Jordan Williams and Landon Milbourne, who combined for 40 points and 23 rebounds.
ACC Player of the Year, guard Greivis Vasquez, had an off night from long range, missing all five of his three point attempts; however, the Venezuela native still scored 16 points while grabbing seven boards and dishing out six assists.
Maryland has been more consistent than Michigan State of late, winning eight of its last nine games. They should get the win today as they have more scoing options than the Spartans and they get after the boards just like State does.
