Purdue made it past a tough Siena squad on Friday, besting the Saints 72-64 to garner a meeting with power conference rival Texas A&M. The Boilermakers hit 46 percent of their shot attempts and made up for six rebound Siena advantage by dishing out 21 assists to the Saints nine. Purdue's defense also shut down Siena, holding the MAAC champ to 33 percent on the day (3-of-12 three point range).
Center JaJuan Johnson had a huge day for the Boilermakers, scoring 23 points and grabbing 15 boards to go along with three blocked shots. Johnson's performance made up for a poor shooting day from E'Twaun Moore as the junior connected on just 5 of his 15 shot attempts.
This game should be a physical slug fest as the Aggies have the size and experience to match Purdue's rough style of play. Texas A&M gets the win and covers the -2.5 spread.
