USC and Michigan State advanced to the field of 32 with wins on Friday and now they will meet each other this afternoon in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game is set to tip off at 5:00pm ET at the Metrodome and will be televised live on CBS. If USC can pull off another upset, they will move on to face either the Kansas Jayhawks or the Dayton Flyers next weekend in Indianapolis.

USC looked overpowering on Friday as they easily disposed on the Boston College Eagles 72-55. The win was the Trojans sixth in a row and it improved their neutral site record to 5-2 on the year. USC, 22-12, is now averaging 68.5 points per game while giving up 63.2 per outing to their competition.
The Trojans hit an impressive 52.9 percent from the field against BC while holding the Eagles to a pathetic 32.7 percent from the floor and 26.1 percent from downtown. Forward Taj Gibson paced the USC offensively, scoring 24 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out five assists. Aiding Gibson was guard Dwight Lewis; the junior dropped in 20 points and added six boards and four assists for good measure.
Michigan State coasted to a relatively easy win as well, beating 15 seed Robert Morris by a score of 77-62 on Friday night. The Spartans used the opportunity to improve their record to 27-6 on the season and advance their neutral site mark to 6-3. Tom Izzo's squad has now won seven of their last eight games as they enter this afternoon's skirmish with the Trojans.
The Spartans had five players in double figures compared to just one for the Colonials. Frontcourt teammates Ravmar Morgan and Goran Suton helped MSU control the paint as they accounted for 27 points and 23 rebounds. The Spartans finished with a 43 to 25 rebounding edge in the decisive win.
