Ohio State Buckeyes 2010 Final Four Odds, Picks & Predictions: Ohio State has its eyes set on an 11th Final Four appearance after seeing the one, three, and four seeds all knocked out of the Midwest Bracket. The Buckeyes are now listed as the prohibitive favorite to win the region, coming in at -110 moneyline odds in BetUS.com's 2010 Final Four Odds, Picks & Predictions. The online bookmaker also has Ohio State listed at +400 moneyline odds to reach the championship game in Indianapolis.
Ohio State lived up to its lofty seeding through the first two rounds of NCAA Tournament action, enough so that they are being listed
as the favorite to advance to Indy from the region that many considered the most difficult. And why not, the Buckeyes have won nine straight, a streak that began with a 74-67 victory in East Lansing over fellow Big Ten school and Midwest Region squad Michigan State.
The Buckeyes have also had their share of success in the Sweet 16, going 3-0 in their last three trips to Regional Semifinals with wins over Tennessee (2007), Auburn (1999), and North Carolina (1992). And the last time Ohio State made it this far, they went all the way to the National Championship game where they lost to Florida 75-84.
This Ohio State team, which features one of the best players in the nation in Evan Turner, appears to have the type of focus that is needed for a deep tournament run, at least Head Coach Thad Matta thinks so.
"These guys sort of take my mentality of, 'All right. What's next?" Matta said. "We don't get too high or too low. It's just onto the next thing."
The next thing, in this case, happens to be their last Sweet 16 opponent, the Tennessee Volunteers, which they beat 85-84 at the Alamodome in San Antonio in the 2007 Regional Semifinals.
