Syracuse Orange 2010 Final Four Odds, Picks & Predictions: Much was made of the loss of big man Arinze Onuaku in the Big East Tournament, as well as Syracuse's back-to-back losses heading into the NCAA's; however, neither affected the Orange in the first two rounds of play. Syracuse played up to its top seed and gave every indication that it could win the West Region and move on to Indy. 2010 Final Four Odds, Picks & Predictions at SPORTSBETTING.com have the Orange listed as a -120 favorite to represent their bracket at the Final Four.
Syracuse finished the regular season with an impressive 28-4 record, but they appeared to be the most beleaguered of the
top seeds after losing to Louisville and Georgetown. A 79-56 pasting of Vermont soothed some fears among Orange fans, but the team's blistering of Gonzaga in the second round signaled that whatever funk the team was in, if any, had disappeared.
Now a new set of challenges await Jim Boeheim's troops, but they certainly appear to be up to the task, even without Onuaku. Syracuse big men helped secure a decisive rebound advantage in the first two games while holding the Catamounts and Bulldogs to a combined 38.3 percent field goal shooting. The team expects the same results as it moves closer to Indy.
"Every time we go out there we try to take it one game at a time and play Syracuse basketball," guard Scoop Jardine said. " Coming into the Tournament, we had lost two games straight. People kind of turned their heads. Then we lost Arinze Onuaku. We knew it was a good tema all year and we could stick together and just play basketball."
