Kentucky rides an eight game win streak into tonight's game, including its three Tournament wins over East Tennessee State, Wake Forest, and Cornell. The Wildcats had no trouble whatsoever getting by those three teams, beating them by an average of 25.4 points per contest (84 to 58.6). Like West Virginia, Kentucky also dominated the glass in its first three NCAA games, scoring an 8.3 per game advantage on the boards.
Several Wildcats have filled up the box score for John Calipari over the past three games, but each outing seemed to have a different star. Guard Eric Bledsoe had 29 points and four steals against East Tennessee, guard Darius Miller had 20 points and nine rebounds against Wake, and forward DeMarcus Cousins had 16 points, seven rebounds, and four steals against Cornell.
Tonight's game marks Kentucky's 13th regional finals appearance since 1983. The Wildcats, which are also 9-0 in neutral site play this season, are 5-7 in that stretch; however, they are 0-3 since 1999, losing to Michigan State twice and Marquette.
