Big East foes Pittsburgh and Villanova will face each other this evening in the East Region final at the TD BankNorth Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The game is set to tip off at 7:05pm ET and will be broadcast live on CBS. Tonight's winner will advance to the Final Four and face either North Carolina or Oklahoma next weekend. Pittsburgh vs Villanova Final Four Picks, Odds & Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Panthers listed as a -2 against the spread favorite. Pittsburgh has been tested more than any number one seed in this year's tournament and the challenges will continue tonight as they face a team that beat them 67-57 back in January. Still, the Panthers have found a way to win, getting by East Tennessee 72-62, Oklahoma State 84-76, and, on Thursday night, Xavier 60-55. They are now 31-4 on the season and a stellar 5-1 in neutral site action. The Panthers had anything but a pretty box score against the tough Musketeers from Xavier, shooting a miserable 33.8 percent from the floor and 26.7 from three point range. They won, nonetheless, as a result of their own defensive chops. Xavier hit just 32.8 percent of their field goal attempts and a pathetic 21.7 percent from beyond the arc. Forwards Sam Young and DeJuan Blair came through as usual, combining for 29 points and 20 rebounds, but point guard Levance Fields was the real hero. Fields hit a three pointer to tie the game with under a minute to play and then scored the go ahead bucket on a fast break layup to help secure the win for Pitt. Villanova, aside from their opening round tussle with American University, has mowed through their tournament opposition. The Wildcats destroyed UCLA 89-69 in their second round game and on Thursday night they stomped the Duke Blue Devils 77-54 in Boston. Jay Wright's squad improved to 29-7 with the win and 7-2 in neutral site play. The Wildcats defense, which is not what they typically hang their hat on, dominated Duke, holding the Devils to an unbelievable 26.7 percent from the field and an even worse 18.5 percent from three point range. And, while they did not shoot lights out (42.2 percent), they did manage to get four players in double figures. Dante Cunningham and Scottie Reynolds led the way, uniting for 30 points. Sportsbook.com's Pittsburgh vs Villanova Final Four Picks, Odds & Predictions: Pittsburgh Panthers -2 (-105), Over 142 (-110), +115 (Moneyline) Villanova Wildcats +2 (-105), Under 142 (-110), -135 (Moneyline) |
