The regional finals will tip off this afternoon when the Missouri Tigers and the UConn Huskies square off against each other in Glendale, Arizona. The Big 12 versus Big East West Region finale is scheduled to get underway at 4:40pm ET at the University of Phoenix Stadium and will be broadcast live on CBS. Missouri, despite being a three seed, has stunned most pundits with their run to the Eilte Eight. Oddsmakers and talking heads alike felt the Tigers season would conclude Thursday night against Memphis, but Mike Anderson's squad was not ready to head home. They have now reeled off six straight wins, including their run to the Big 12 tournament championship, and are an impressive 31-6 overall. Missouri is also 8-1 in neutral site games this season.

The Tigers overwhelmed Memphis with an offenisve assualt that racked up an astounding 102 points. They shot 53.2 percent from the field while getting five players into double figures in scoring. Junior guard J.T. Tiller led the charge, scoring a career high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He was aided by senior forwards Leo Lyons and DeMarre Carroll, who combined for 32 points and 18 rebounds.

UConn had their least impressive performance of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday evening, but they still disposed of the Purdue Boilermakers 72-60. In garnering their third straight win, the Huskies improved their overall record to 30-4. On the season, Jim Calhoun's team is averaging 78.4 points per game while giving up a meager 63.4 per outing to their opposition.

The Huskies shot 44.6 percent from the field in their win over Purdue and they hit 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. UConn also had four players in double figures, led by guard Craig Austrie's 17 points. A.J. Price chipped in 15 as did center Hasheem Thabeet. In addition to his scoring, Thabeet had 15 rebounds and four blocked shots. The Boilermakers managed just 34.6 percent field goal shooting against the Huskies.
