Baylor vs. Duke 2010 Elite 8 Odds, Picks & Predictions: The Duke Blue Devils have so far lived up to the hype and expectations of a top-seed and survived through the first three rounds to earn a spot in the South Regional Finals at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Their opponent – the Baylor University Bears – are newcomers to this elite status but are hardly Cinderella, as a three-seed and member of the powerful Big 12 Conference. Sunday's game is slated for a 5:05 p.m. ET start.
Baylor finished in a second-place tie in the Big 12 this regular season, then got beat in the semis of the conference tournament. The Bears then took care of Sam Houston State in the first round of this NCAA tournament 68-59, and held off Old Dominion 76-68 in round two last Saturday (Mar. 20). The Bears advanced to the Final Eight on Friday after their convincing 72-49 win over St. Mary's Friday night.
Duke did the double-title thing in the ACC this season, and has since beaten Arkansas-Pine Bluff 73-44 and, last Sunday, California 68-53. Then in Friday's South Regional Semi's was impressive in its 70-57 win over BIG TEN co-champ and tournament 4-seed Purdue.
NCAA Tournament Predictions: Sunday's game has all the makings of a barn burner. Baylor will have a strong home crowd behind it at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Will it be enough? Baylor is a great bet getting +5.
