Michigan State Spartans Final Four Lines 2010: The Spartans of Michigan State reached the Final Four for the sixth time under Head Coach Tom Izzo, beating Tennessee on Saturday to secure a spot in Indy. Oddsmakers at Bodog.com are not expecting much from the team this weekend, though, as the Spartans are listed at 9 to 2 odds to win the National Championship in the online bookmaker's Final Four Lines 2010.
Michigan State did not exactly enter the Tournament with a great deal of momentum, losing two of their previous five
games before squaring off against a tough New Mexico State team in the first round. However, Tom Izzo knows how to get his team ready for March basketball as evidenced by the Spartans wins over the Aggies, Terrapins, Panthers, and the aforementioned Volunteers.
Michigan State trumped those squads by an average of just 3.3 points per game, but it overcame Northern Iowa and Tennessee without their point guard and leading scorer, Kalin Lucas.
The Spartans have needed and used it all this Tournament — superior rebounding, hot three point shooting, tenacious defense, good fortune — which makes their National Semifinal appearance on Saturday, perhaps, the most surprising of the Izzo era.
While Michigan State may be considered a longshot to win it all, its run to Indianapolis has proven it cannot be taken lightly.
The Spartans are 2-3 in national semifinal games since 1999, beating Wisconsin in 2000 and Connecticut last year.
