ACC/BIG TEN Challenge: Michigan State vs Duke: In the college basketball world, two heavy hitters will do battle Wednesday night when top-ranked Duke (6-0) hosts No. 6 Michigan State (5-1) at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., as part of the ACC/BIG TEN Challenge. The game, to be aired on ESPN, has a late, 9:30 PM Eastern, tip-off. This is the third meeting between the Spartans and Blue Devils in the challenge.
Betting opened at most offshore sportsbooks showing the Blue Devils as 11 1/2-chalk favorites. The line has since been bet down, now favoring Duke by -10 with a posted total of 149 1/2. Michigan State is still getting the love from bettors who are playing the Spartans on the side bet by 63 percent whle 80 percent of gamblers are taking Michigan State on the moneyline.
The Spartans got SU wins in their first three games before falling 70-67 in a slight upset to Connecticut in the Maui Invitational in Hawai'i on Nov. 23. Michigan State rebounded the next night by defeating No. xx Washington 73-55. Since returning from Maui, Michigan State picked up a home win versus unranked Tennessee Tech.
In six lined games, the Spartans have gone 3-3 against the point spread while the UNDER has cashed 3-3 on the posted total. In their only SU loss to Connecticut, the Spartans covered as 6-chalk underdogs. In their only two games away from East Lansing, the Spartans went 1-1 SU and ATS.
Duke has backed up its high ranking by getting big wins on the road against Oregon and No. 6 Kansas State. The Blue Devils have been dependable for backers by covering the point-spread in all five lined games played this season.
