Point guard Kalin Lucas, who has presided over two wins against Texas during his time at Michigan State, expects another victory this evening.
"We haven't lost to them since I've been here, and I don't plan to start now," Lucas said. "But it'll be a dogfight."
While the Spartans may not have lost to Texas with Lucas on the floor, the current group of Longhorns will probably be the toughest Michigan State has gone up against in quite some time. Rick Barnes squad is 10-0 coming into tonight's game and they are fresh off a 103-90 spanking of the Tar Heels at Cowboys Stadium.
The Longhorns are also 6-0 at home, where they have averaged 88.2 points per game and allowed a meager 50.5. Those numbers have given Barnes a great deal of confidence in his troops.
"I think if we play to our potential, we can beat everybody we play," Barnes said. That would include Izzo's Spartans.
