Teams from the ACC have shown superiority in the 2006 version of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge by taking a 4-to-2 games advantage over teams from the rival Big 10. With five games on tap tonight (Nov. 29) teams from the Big Ten Conference must win four of the five games remaining to get bragging rights over their ACC rivals.

Action begins at 7 p.m. (all times Eastern) tonight with two games filling the time slot. Virginia Tech hosts Iowa (ESPNU) while Michigan State travels to Boston College (ESPN). The Hokies are favored -9 (total 132 ½) over the Hawkeyes while Boston College is favored by -3 (total 132 ½) against Michigan State. At 7:35 p.m. Virginia and Purdue tip-off (ESPN2) with the Boilermakers favored -2 (total 148 ½).

On Tuesday Maryland freshman and Venezuela native Greivis Vasquez and teammate Mike Jones led the Terps to a 72-66 win over Illinois in raucous Assembly Hall ending Illinois’ 51 game non-conference winning streak at home dating back to the 1988 season. Maryland covered the +4 ½ line ATS and the 138 point total made the UNDER a winner.

Wisconsin defeated visiting Florida State 81-66 as Badgers leading scorer Bo Ryan poured in 22 points, 18 of which came after an early game eye injury. The Badgers' leading scorer hit a 3-pointer as soon as he got back on the floor. The Badgers covered ATS -11 as home favorites and the OVER 132 ½ easily won with a game total of 147.

Georgia Tech needed 20 points from Lewis Clinch and some late free throws from Anthony Morrow to hold off heavy road underdog Penn State and take a 77-73 win. The Nittany Lions easily covered +11 ATS while the OVER 136 ½ was also a winner with a game total of 150. Craig Moore scored a career-high 24 points to lead Northwestern to a 61-59 home win over Miami and in the process the Wildcats covered the -1-point line ATS. The OVER 115 was a winner with both teams combining for 120 points. Miami’s Jack McClinton poured in 30 points for Miami to tie his career high.
