The top seeded Buckeyes, installed as a slight favorite over two-seed Wisconsin by a -1 ½ point chalk by Sportbet.com, is also the No. 1 ranked team in both AP and ESPN/USA Today Polls while the Badgers are ranked third in the AP and fourth in the ESPN/USA poll. Ohio State and Wisconsin split the regular-season series with each team winning on its home court. The Buckeyes made a late rally and missed a shot at the buzzer that would have extended the game to overtime in Madison in a 72-69 Badger victory on Jan 9th. In that game, the Buckeyes covered the +4 ½ point line ATS and the OVER (134) cashed on the total. Wisconsin then traveled to Columbus as the No. 1 team nationally in the Associated Press Poll while the Buckeyes held down the No. 1 spot in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll on Feb. 25.
Ohio State prevailed 49-48 to improved to 8-9 overall vs. No. 1 teams all-time and securing the 2007 outright Big Ten Title. In that game, the Buckeyes covered ATS as they were installed as a +4 ½ point road dog. Overall, Ohio State leads the all-time series 78-61. The squads each own a win on a neutral court. Ohio State is 18-8 as a ranked team (AP) in the series. The Buckeyes are 5-7 vs. ranked Wisconsin teams and when both teams are ranked nationally, Ohio State is 3-1 vs. the Badgers. Look for the Buckeyes to win today and cover the -1 ½ point line. The incentive for the Buckeye’s is a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. |
