The No. 22 ranked Pitt Panthers (18-5, 6-4 Big East) expect a stiff Big East Conference challenge at home from the Providence College Friars (13-10, 4-7) Tuesday when they meet at the Peterson Events Center with a 7:30 p.m. ET start. Pitt enters the game after winning six of its last nine contests. It improved to 6-4 after defeating West Virginia on Feb. 7 on  Ronald Ramon's buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the corner. Pitt dropped a 60-53 decision at Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 2 despite DeJuan Blair's ninth double-double of the year and Sam Young's 18 points.
