Virginia Cavaliers (20-10) vs. Albany Great Danes (23-9), 12:15 p.m. ET, Line UVA -8 ½ (135) . The Great Danes, who came close to the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history against UCONN last year, will not sneak up on the Cavaliers. The ACC regular season co-champs have plenty of weapons in store for Albany including an experienced back court in junior Sean Singletary and senior J.R. Reynolds. Albany counters with shooting guard Jamar Wilson (18.5 p.p.g.) and a stingy defense. Albany has little chance of pulling an upset but if they hit on all cylinders could give UVA a scare. Point-Spreads.com pick: UVA -8. Memphis Tigers (30-3) vs. North Texas Mean Green (23-10), 12:30 p.m. ET, Line Memphis -18 (145 total) . The Tigers should be a top seed in this tournament but coming out of the watered down C-USA didn’t get the respect. Look for Memphis to make an example out of Sun Belt Conference champions Mean Green. Point-Spreads pick: Memphis -18. Tennessee Volunteers (22-10) vs. Long Beach 49ers (24-7) 2:35 p.m. ET, Line Tenn. -7 (169 ½ total). This match up is between two teams who will play up-tempo and score lots of points. The athletic Vols of the powerful SEC will present better defense than what the 49ers see in the Big West Conference. Point-Spreads.com pick: UNDER 169 ½. Nevada Wolf Pack (28-4) vs. Creighton Blue Jays (24-7), 3 p.m. Line Nevada – 1 ½ (134 total) . This should be a great battle between to very good teams. The Wolf Pack, led by All-American Nick Fazekas, remember getting stung in the first round by Montana in 2006 don’t want to repeat that experience. The Blue Jays, enjoying their seventh trip to the tournament in eight years, are capable of going deep into the tournament. Point-Spreads.com pick: Nevada – 1 ½. |
