Ohio State Buckeyes Advances to 2007 NCAA Championship GameThe number one seeded and Big Ten Tournament Champion Ohio State Buckeyes beat the number two seeded Georgetown Hoyas 67-60 to advance to the NCAA championship game on Monday.

Buckeyes star Mike Conley Jr. scored 15 points with 6 assists while Greg Oden finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Greg Oden picked up two fouls in the first three minutes of the first half so the Buckeyes had to relied on Conley to step up. Step up he did by scoring 11 points in the first half. Ohio State lead the Georgetown Hoyas 27-23 at the break.

Jessie Sapp’s three point shot gave Georgetown a 34-33 lead in the second half to cap off a 8-4 run but Ohio State Buckeyes battled back to move back into the lead 42-36 with 12 minutes left in the game. Oden scored all 13 of his points in the second half. The Hoyas struggled at the line hitting 3 of 8 while the Buckeyes shot 68% scoring 13 of 19.

The Georgetown Hoyas were able to knock the #2 seed Ohio State out of the 2006 NCAA Basketball Tournament in the second round after beating the Buckeyes 70-52. The Buckeyes settled the score tonight with Georgetown now look to avenge their football teams lost in January 2007 to the Gators in the NCAA Football National Championship Game.

Ohio State will now face the Florida Gators in the 2007 NCAA Basketball Championship Game to do just that on Monday April 2nd, 2007 from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
