The Capital One Bowl, as it has been referred to the last seven years, will take place today at 1:00pm ET at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The SEC's Georgia Bulldogs and the Big 10's Michigan State Spartans will be the participants in this ABC televised bowl battle. Georgia began the season ranked number one in the AP Top 25, but they were unable chart an undefeated course through their land mine schedule. The Bulldogs did, however, find their way to a 9-3 overall record after starting the year 4-0. Head Coach Mark Richt and his players finished conference play at 6-2 and in second place in the SEC's East division behind Florida.They come into this contest ranked 15th in the BCS standings.

The Bulldogs averaged 32.1 points per game while racking up 433.9 yards per outing. Junior quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 3209 yards and 22 touchdowns on his way to a 153.17 passer rating. Stafford was aided by sophomore running back Knowshon Moreno, who tallied an impressive 1338 rushing yards and 17 total touchdowns.

Michigan State returned 13 starters from last season's 7-6 team, which was Head Coach Mark Dantonio's first with the school. The Spartans showed some major improvement as they pieced together a 9-3 mark this year. Their 6-2 conference record, the losses coming against Ohio State and Penn State, earned them a third place finish in the Big 10. Dantonio's squad is currently ranked 18th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the BCS standings.

The Spartans were led this year by senior tailback Javon Ringer. Ringer ran for 1590 yards and 21 touchdowns in his final season in East Lansing.
