Cincinnati vs. Florida College Bowl Picks – 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl: The Allstate Sugar Bowl will be played on New Years Day (8:30 p.m. ET) by the No. 5 Florida Gators of the SEC and No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats of the BIG EAST Conference. The Gators were ranked No. 1 throughout the football season but dropped after falling to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 5. Cincinnati went undefeated finishing the regular season with a 12-0 record.
This game has been a three-ring circus off the field since the weeks final weekend. First, Cincinnati's head coach Brian Kelly was lured away to become the head coach at Notre Dame. Then last week Florida coach Urban Meyer announced he was stepping down due to some health concerns. Meyer followed that the next day that he was taking a leave of absence rather than leaving.
The betting line has resembled a bouncing ball in the process of all the distractions. The line, opening favoring Florida by 9 1/2 in many online and Las Vegas locations, has hovered around 10 for three weeks. Once Meyer made his recent announcement he was staying, the line has moved favoring Florida to -13 with a 58 total.
Today's game will also mark the end of 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow's career as Florida quarterback. During Tebow's four year run at quarterback, the Gators have won two BCS Championships.
College Bowl Picks: Cincinnati will have difficulty moving the ball against a very good Florida defense. Also, how well will the Bearcats be prepared considering the entire coaching staff is there on an interim basis. We like the Gators to win big.
