Michigan vs Mississippi State 2011 Gator Bowl Spreads, Odds & PredictionsIn spite of all the nay-sayers and Rich Rodriguez bashers, Michigan put together a pretty good football season in 2010 that resulted in the team geting a New Years Day bowl bid to the Gator Bowl. It's a much better situation than the previous two years when the Wolverines sat at home. The team went 7-5 overall, a season that included wins over Notre Dame and eventual BIG EAST champion Connecticut.

Michigan went 4-3 SU at home and 3-2 on the road. The Wolverines were possibly overlined by oddsmakers as they struggled covering the betting spreads going 3-8 ATS in lined games. The Wolverines went 0-3 as a home favorite and split four games 2-2 as road favorites. As underdogs, Michigan was 1-3 ATS.

Mississippi State had a great season going 8-4 SU and was profitable for backers cashing in six of 11 lined games. The Bulldogs played good defensive football too which was good for totals gamblers as the UNDER cashed in seven of eight games.

One big difference between these teams thats visible is karma. It's all good around the Mississippi State team while there's so much negativity around the Michigan program. State head coach Dan Mullen is the toast of the SEC, and owner of a new multi-million dollar contract while the talk around Michigan is about getting rid of the coach. That's why Mississippi State is my pick for this game. BEST PICK – Bulldogs -3 1/2.
