The 2009 AT&T Cotton Bowl kicks off today at 2:00pm ET at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The SEC's Mississippi Rebels and the Big 12's Texas Tech Red Raiders are the combatants in this FOX televised bowl classic. College football bowl picks at BetUS.com have the Red Raiders listed as a -4 favorite. Texas Tech had an unbelieveable season, finishing with a school best 11-1 record. The Red Raiders went 7-1 in the Big 12 South and closed out the regular season in second place in the division behind Oklahoma. Mike Leach's squad, who won their first 10 games before falling to the Sooners 21-65 on November 22nd, is currently ranked seventh in the BCS standings. The Raiders featured their customary earth scorching offensive attack as they posted 536.2 yards per game and 44.6 points per game. Senior quarterback Graham Harrell led the charge, throwing for 4747 yards and 41 touchdowns on 568 attempts. Graham's favorite target, sophomore receiver Michael Crabtree, hauled in 93 passes for 1135 yards and 18 touchdowns. Ole Miss had a wonderful season under first year Head Coach Houston Nutt. The Rebels went 8-4 this year after winning just three games in 2007. Their 5-3 conference record was good enough for a second place finish in the SEC's West division, and was highlighted by a 31-30 win at Florida. Mississippi sits at 20th in the AP Poll and 25th in the BCS rankings. The Rebels producing an average of 30.8 points per game this season behind a powerful running attack that churned out 183.4 yards per outing.
