Texas vs Alabama 2010 BCS National Championship Game Picks, Predictions & Odds: The Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide will play for all the marbles tomorrow night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The game is set to get underway between the two top ranked foes at 8:00pm ET on ABC. 2010 BCS National Championship Game Picks, Predictions & Odds at online sportsbook BetUS.com have the Crimson Tide listed as a -4 against the spread favorite.Texas vs Alabama 2010 BCS National Championship Game Picks, Predictions & Odds

Texas powered through its 2009 schedule with relative ease, going 13-0 overall and 8-0 in conference play to earn it the Big 12 South title and an appearance in the league championship game. The Longhorns captured that as well, beating North champion Nebraska 13-12 in the Big 12 Championship Game on December 5th. The narrow win over the Huskers was by far the closest game the Longhorns played all season.

Texas has had tremendous bowl success under Head Coach Mack Brown. The Longhorns have an 8-3 postseason record during Brown's 12 year tenure and they have won five straight bowl games, including two at the Rose Bowl, by an average of 5.4 points per game. Last year Texas beat Ohio State 24-21 in the Fiesta Bowl to give the school its third BCS victory in the last five years.

Alabama spent much of the season ranked No. 2 in the BCS standings, but the Tide vaulted to the top spot on December 5th with a 32-13 pasting of Florida in the SEC Championship Game. The huge win improved Alabama's overall record to 13-0 and their conference tally to 8-0. The Crimson Tide beat five ranked opponents this season (Virginia Tech, Mississippi, South Carolina, LSU, and Florida) by an average of 13.8 points per game; however,  Nick Saban's squad also survived close calls against Tennessee (12-0) and Auburn (26-21).

Alabama is 1-1 under Saban in bowl games and the Tide got rolled 31-17 as a nine point favorite by Utah in last year's Sugar Bowl. The Crimson Tide's last bowl victory came in the 2007 Independence Bowl when they beat another Big 12 school, Colorado, 30-24.

This should be a close game between two evenly matched teams. The Longhorns feature the better offense, averaging 40.7 points and 432 yards per game compared to the Tides' 31.7 and 413.8. Alabama has the better defense, though, holding teams to an average of 11 points and 241.8 yards per game compared to Texas' 15.2 and 251. This is the Longhorns first game as a dog all season long; the last time they occupied such a role they beat Oklahoma 45-35 (10-11-2008). Expect them to be in this until the end. Prediction: Alabama wins, Texas covers the 4 point spread.

2010 BCS National Championship Betting Trend: Alabama is 8-2 against the spread and 10-0 straight up in its last 10 games as a favorite with a spread between 4 and 7.5
