The 2008 Allstate BCS National Championship Game will be broadcast by Fox and be aired live from the Louisiana Superdome with kickoff at 8:00 PM EST. The oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have made the BCS betting lines on the LSU Tigers –4 points over the Ohio State Buckeyes.
“This game pits a percieved strong SEC conference against a possble inferior Big-10,” stated Point-Spreads.com BCS Betting Lines Expert Michael Alexander when asked about the Ohio State vs LSU National Championship Game. “Some say perceptions are reality but this contest might not be what a lot of the pundits think, at least on the surface.”
LSU has been in several tight battles with six of the final eight games decided by seven points or fewer, and one of the other ones, a 41-24 win over Ole Miss, was tighter than the final score. Ohio State has only been in one really tough battle, and it lost it to Illinois. Senior Quarterback Matt Flynn, who missed the SEC Championship Game with an injury, is slated to be the starter in the BCS Championship Game. Sportsbook.com has made the total 48 points for Ohio State vs LSU .
"I really don't know how you can explain it," stated LSU Tigers Quarterback Matt Flynn. "In just one week we go from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain. The loss to Arkansas was the most painful one I've ever had because we think it's over. And now we're here. It's really unbelievable."
LSU Tigers running back Jacob Hester said that the team became more confident after each time they won close games and the Tigers expect to be crowned the BCS National Champions for 2008 at the conclusion of the game.
"I can't explain exactly what it is, but it's that little extra something that allows you to win the close games," Hester said. "Because in this league (SEC), if you don't have it you can very easily be 7-6. I don't know what it is, but this team has definitely got it."
