Colorado Buffaloes 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011

Colorado Buffaloes 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: It is hardly enough to say that Dan Hawkins time in Boulder has been a disappointment as the former Boise State coach has compiled a 16-33 record at Colorado. If the Buffaloes fail to improve this season, Hawkins may not be included in the school's move to the Pac 10 in 2011. 2010 College Football Predictions at BetUS.com do not like the team's chances in the North this year; Colorado is currently listed at +600 moneyline odds to win the division, putting them ahead of only Iowa State.

Dan Hawkins came to Boulder with high hopes as he had produced a 53-11 record during his five years on the Boise State Colorado Buffaloes 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011sidelines. However, the Broncos have continued to churn out winning seasons under Chris Petersen while the Buffaloes have yet to manufacture one under Hawkins. The lack of success has left the coach on a reasonably warm to hot seat entering this season, which will most likely be the Buffaloes last in the Big 12 Conference.

Despite Hawkins so far miserable tenure at Colorado, he may have his best chance for success with this year's squad. Granted the team went 3-9 last season, but the Buffaloes win total was not indicative of the talent level. Colorado will have an opportunity to prove that in 2010 with 17 starters and 55 lettermen back on campus.

Both Tyler Hansen and Cody Hawkins, who split time at quarterback last season, return as does leading rusher Rodney Stewart (904 yards, nine touchdowns). Hansen, who should be the starter under center, will also have top targets Scotty McKnight (76 receptions, 893 yards, six touchdowns) and Markques Simas to lean on. The offensive line, which played horribly in 2009 (44 sacks allowed, 2.8 yards per carry average), returns nine players, giving it a chance to make a huge turnaround this season.

The Buffs defense loses its top two performers from last year's unit in Cha'pelle Brown and Jeff Smart, but seven starters are back and it is difficult to envision the team giving up the 28.8 points per game it did a season ago. The group as a whole has more experience with senior starters at every level of the defense, including two at linebacker (Michael Sipili, B.J. Beatty) and two in the secondary (Jalil Brown, Jimmy Smith).

Colorado has a tough non-conference slate with games against Colorado State, California, Hawaii, and Georgia, but it should be able to at least split those. The team travels to Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska in conference play, but gets Baylor, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Kansas State at home.
