Arkansas Razorbacks 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011The Tide are oddsmakers choice to repeat as BCS Champ but to do so must go through Fayetteville, Ark., and the Razorbacks first. Oddsmakers give the Hogs a decent shot at winning the 2011 BCS Title, listed on the Sportsbook.com BCS board at 40/1 (+4000) odds. So college football gambling fanatics need to circle the date Sept. 25, the day Bama and Arkansas tangle in the Ozarks.

Coach Bobby Petrino, beginning his third year on the hill, will have nine starters returning on offense and seven on defense. Depth will be much better in 2010 with 40 players returning who made at least one start in 2009.

Leading the offense for Arkansas will be junior quarterback Ryan Mallet. In 2009, Mallett set or tied 16 different school records. In his first season in the SEC, Mallett led the league in touchdown passes (30), passing yards per game (278.8) and total offense per game (276.5). He was the only player in the SEC to throw five-or-more touchdown passes in three different games. He also led the league in 400-yard passing performances with two and 300-yard passing performances with five. Look for Mallett's name to be associated with all the major awards including the Heisman Trophy.

The Razorback defense , the teams achilles heel in recent years, should be better in 2010. The unit is returning five of its top seven tacklers from last season. Jerry Franklin returns after leading the squad in tackles each of the last two years.

The Hogs return players who accounted for nine of its 13 interceptions including Franklin and Tramain Thomas who each had three to lead the team.

Jake Bequette and Zach Stadther return after starting on the defensive line last season. Bequette was the team leader in 2009 in sacks (5.5) and quarterback hurries (8). He alsoranked second on the team in forced fumbles and fumble recoveries with two of each.
