Kentucky Wildcats 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: Long time Kentucky assistant football coach Joker Phillips will lead the Wildcats onto the field as head coach for the 2010 campaign when they begin play versus Louisville on Sept. 4. Phillips is taking over for Rich Brooks who retired following the 2009 season. Phillips will continue building the Kentucky program that Brooks started. The Cats have played in the post season four straight years, something Phillips looks to continue.

BetUS has the Wildcats odds listed fifth at +1000 (10/1) to win the SEC East, and 11th at +3000 (30/1) to win the SEC outright. Only Vanderbilt is lower than Kentucky on the BetUS college football futures board.
Kentucky has some quality tools on offense, led by senior quarterback Mike Hartline who is returning to the starting job following injury five games into the 2009 season. If Hartline falters, the boy with the big arm, Ryan Mossakowski will be ready to step in.
Sharing the backfield with Hartline will be veterans Derrick Locke and all-purpose back Randall Cobb. Locked was credited with 907 rushing yards and six touchdowns last year, while Cobb was the teams leading receiver, 39 receptions for 447 yards, and four touchdowns and led Kentucky's wildcat package rushing for 573 yardsand 10 touchdowns. Cobb was also 5-of-13 in passing.
Kentucky's biggest challenge will be on defense. The Cats were 11th in rushing yards allowed in 2009 giving up 182.9 rushes per game.
Phillips, whose goal is to bring Kentucky to parr with the best in the league will be lucky to win six games his first year.
