Cincinnati Bearcats 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: The Cincinnati Bearcats recorded double digit win seasons in 2007, 2008, and 2009, which in turn led to the departure of Head Coach Brian Kelly to South Bend, Indiana where he will attempt to get the Fighting Irish back on track. Ironically, the man who took over for Kelly when he left Central Michigan for Cincinnati, Butch Jones, will replace Kelly as head coach of the Bearcats this Fall. 2010 College Football Predictions at BetUS.com have Cincinnati listed at +500 moneyline odds to repeat as Big East champion.

The Bearcats ran through the 2009 regular season with a 12-0 record, which earned them a Sugar Bowl meeting Cincinnati Bearcats 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011with the Florida Gators. Tim Tebow and company ended Cincinnati's bid at perfection with a 51-24 pasting of the Bearcats at the Superdome in New Orleans. Despite that lopsided loss, Cincy had plenty to be happy about, including the fact that 12 starters and 44 lettermen from that team would be back on campus this year.

The offense does lose quarterback Tony Pike as well as leading receiver Mardy Gilyard; however, junior Zach Collaros, who threw for 1434 yards and 10 touchdowns (two interceptions) filling in for the injured Pike last season, will step in under center. Collaros' presence coupled with the return of leading rusher Isaiah Pead (806 yards, nine touchdowns, 6.7 ypc) and receiver Armon Binns (61 receptions, 888 yards, 11 touchdowns) should go a long way toward maintaining the Bearcats 38.6 point per game average from a season ago.

Cincinnati's defense takes the bigger hit, losing six starters, including top tackler Andre Revels (109) and leading sacker Alex Daniels (8.5). New defensive coordinators Tim Banks and John Jancek will have an opportunity to work with a number of talented under-classmen, though, as only one senior will start for Cincinnati this season. That may not bode well this fall, but come 2011, the Bearcats will be better for it.

Butch Jones is a great hire for Cincinnati as he put together a 27-13 mark in his time with the Chippewas. Under Jones' direction, Central Michigan has won the MAC Championship two of the last three years. The 2009 Chippewa squad went 12-2 and beat Ohio 20-10 in the conference championship game.
