South Florida Bulls 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: South Florida had a big offseason to say the least after letting the man who built the football program, Jim Leavitt, go amidst allegations that he punched a player. Leavitt, who put together a 95-57 record in 13 years at the school, will be replaced by former Connecticut and East Carolina coach Skip Holtz. 2010 College Football Predictions at Bodog.com have the Bulls listed at 6 to 1 odds to win the Big East under Holtz, who guided ECU to back-to-back Conference USA titles in 2008 and 2009.

The Bulls went 8-5 last season while finishing sixth in the Big East with a 3-4 conference record. South Florida also won its South Florida Bulls 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011postseason game, beating Northern Illinois 27-3 in the International Bowl, giving the school, and Coach Leavitt, a 3-2 bowl record. This year 15 starters and 59 lettermen are back for Coach Holtz as he attempts to build on what has become a highly successful program.

The Bulls offense, which averaged 26.5 points and 366 yards per game last season, should be one of the better units in the Big East this year with 10 starters returning to Tampa. Among those back are sophomore quarterback B.J. Daniels, who threw for 1983 yards and 14 touchdowns in relief of the injured Matt Grothe last year, center Sampson Genus, right tackle Jacob Sims, and left tackle Jamar Bass. Daniels also led the team in rushing with 772 yards and nine touchdowns.

The team's top receiver (Carlton Mitchell) from 2009 is gone, but wideouts AJ Love and Dontavia Bogan return to give Daniels some experienced weapons on the outside.

South Florida's defense welcomes five starters back, but new defensive coordinator Mark Synder will miss the contributions of players like Kion Wilson (105 tackles), Jason Pierre-Paul (45 tackles, 6.5 sacks), and George Selvie (42 tackles, 3.5 sacks). Also gone are free safety Nate Allen and cornerback Jerome Murphy, which combined for 12 passes defended and eight interceptions last season. While the Bulls will field a respectable defense in 2010, they will have a hard timing matching the production of last year's group (19.8 points and 322 yards per game allowed).

2010 College Football Predictions: 6-6 Overall, 3-4 Conference, Fifth Place Big East
