Oregon State Beavers 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: Mike Riley has turned Oregon State into one of the most consistent football programs in the Pac 10 during his time in Corvallis, which means the Beavers are always relevant in the conference championship conversation. Oregon State went 8-5 last season, its fourth consecutive year with at least eight victories. 2010 College Football Predictions at BetUS.com are looking for more good things out of the Beavers this season as the team's win total is presently set at seven with the Over favored at -135 moneyline odds.

Mike Riley has every right to feel optimistic about his team as he heads into his 10th year at Oregon State. The Beavers Oregon State Beavers 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011bring back 15 starters and 58 lettermen from last year's squad, which pieced together a 6-3 conference record after beating Arizona State, Stanford, UCLA, California, Washington, and Washington State.

Oregon State's offense, which averaged 31.5 points and 411 yards per game last season, loses starting quarterback (3271 yards, 21 touchdowns) Sean Canfield, but highly touted sophomore Ryan Katz will step in under center. Katz, who threw for 232 yards and one touchdown in 27 attempts as a redshirt freshman, will be working behind one of the best offensive lines in the Pac 10 as last year's starting center, left guard, left tackle, and right tackle all return.

Also joining Katz are the dynamic Rodgers brothers. Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 1440 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2009 while James Rodgers led the team in receiving with 91 catches for 1034 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Beavers' defense brings back seven starters from last year's unit, which gave up an average of 25 points per game in conference action. Despite the loss of last season's leading tackler, linebacker Keaton Kristick, Oregon State should be able to improve upon its 2009 averages. The defensive line, a group anchored by tackle Stephen Paea (43 tackles, three sacks), is one of the best Riley has had in Corvallis and the secondary has three experienced players, including safety Lance Mitchell, who had 72 tackles, nine passes defended, and three picks last year.

Oregon State should be well prepared for Pac 10 play as it has to face two of the better teams in the country in its non-conference slate in TCU and Boise State. The Beavers do, however, get some of their toughest conference competition at home as they host California, USC, and Oregon.

2010 College Football Predictions: 8-4 Overall, 7-2 Conference, Second Place Pac 10
