Wisconsin Badgers 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011

by Reno Gold on Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Wisconsin Badgers 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: Bret Bielema, now in his fifth year as head coach at Wisconsin, has the Badgers program in great position to challenge the Ohio State Buckeyes for the BIG TEN championship in 2010. And if that happens the Badgers will be a super candidate to play in the BCS Championship Game. Anytime a team has 10 offensive starters returning, fans and players know something special can happen. If there is a weakness, it would be on defense where they must find replacements for five starters, who've moved on from 2009.

Wisconsin Badgers 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011BetUS.com oddsmakers list Wisconsin's chances of winning the 2010 BIG TEN championship at +350 odds. BetUS has Ohio State as the BIG TEN favorite at -250 odds. Odds on the Badgers winning the 2011 BCS championship are +4000 or 40-to-1.

Wisconsin fans can make preseason wagers at BetUS on the number of wins the team has in the 2010 regular season, with the OVER/UNDER figure set at nine. The price of betting the OVER is -135 while the UNDER is +105.

The Badgers enjoyed a good year in 2009 finishing with a 10-3 record, that included a 20-14 victory over Miami (Fla) in the Champs Sports Bowl. What killed any championship hopes the Badgers might have had, came in October with back to back losses to Ohio State and Iowa. For Wisconsin to improve in 2010, they must overcome the same hurdle as they again play Ohio State and Iowa on consecutive Saturday's, Oct. 9 and Oct. 16.

Wisconsin's 18 returning starters (10 offense, six defense, two specialists) from 2009 is tops in the BIG TEN. A total of 28 different Badgers have started at least one game at Wisconsin.

The Badgers led the Big Ten in both scoring (31.8 ppg.) and total offense (416.9 ypg.). Senior QB Scott Tolzien, in his first season as the stater, led the league in pass efficiency at 143.0. His 2,705 passing yards were the second most in school history.
