Wyoming Cowboys 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: Wyoming produced seven wins in Dave Christensen's first year with the school, the most it has posted since the 2004 season. With 15 starters and 34 lettermen back in Laramie, the Cowboys are optimistic they will finish at or above .500 for a second consecutive year. 2010 College Football Predictions at SBGglobal.com have Wyoming slotted in the "Field Any Other" category, which puts the team at +1200 moneyline odds to win the BCS National Championship.

Dave Christensen guided Wyoming to its first postseason game since 2004 last year after going 7-5 in the regular season. The CowboysWyoming Cowboys 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011 lost the New Mexico Bowl 28-35 to Fresno State, but their appearance in it signaled that the future in Laramie may be brighter than the recent past.

Christensen, who served as offensive coordinator at Missouri prior to his hiring, saw the offense average 18.3 points and 309 yards per game in the first year of his system. Those numbers figure to improve significantly this season with eight starters back, including sophomore quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels. Samuels ranked third on the team in rushing with 366 yards while throwing for 1953 yards and 10 touchdowns (58.6 completion percentage).

The Cowboys also get leading rusher Alvester Alexander (640 yards, seven touchdowns) back as well as number one receiver David Leonard, who reeled in 77 catches for 705 yards and three touchdowns.

The Pokes defense gave up a subpar 27.3 points and 393 yards per contest last season, but, like the offense, should progress in 2010. The unit's top performers all return, giving the team quality players at every level of the defense. Leading tackler, free safety Chris Prosinski, will be joined by 2009 first team Freshman All American Shamiel Gary, who recorded 98 tackles and three picks last season, in the secondary. And the front seven gets defensive end Gabe Knapton (128 tackles) back in addition to linebacker Brian Hendricks (116 tackles).

Wyoming has two definite losses in its non-conference schedule with games against Texas and Boise State, but could split with the other two foes being Southern Utah and Toledo. The Cowboys will be fortunate to go 4-4 in Mountain West play again as San Deigo State should be much improved. The team is almost certain to fall to Utah, BYU, and TCU and overcoming Air Force will not be easy.

2010 College Football Predictions: 5-7 Overall, 3-5 Conference, Sixth Place Mountain West
