Wake Forest Demon Deacons 2010 College Football Predictions – BCS Odds 2011: The 2010 Wake Forest football team isn't expected to contend for the 2010 ACC football championship and will most likely not be in the 2011 BCS picture. Media representatives who cover ACC football recently voted the Demon Deacons to finish fifth in the ACC Atlantic Division.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons 2010 College Football Predictions - BCS Odds 2011BetUS.com lists Wake Forest as a long-shot to win the ACC Atlantic Division at +1000 (10/1) odds and don't give the Deacs much of a chance to win the ACC outright at +3000 (30/1) odds. Wake backers are getting +30,000 (300/1) odds they win the 2011 BCS title.

The top priority for the Demon Deacons this August is to find a starting quarterback. The guy who wins the job will have huge shoes to fill. Riley Skinner departed following the 2009 season. In Skinner's four years with the Demon Deacons, he won 31 games and completed 903 passes of 1,349 attempts for 9,762 yards and 60 touchdowns, all school records. The battle to replace Skinner is between junior Skylar Jones, sophomore Ted Stachitas and redshirt freshman Brendan Cross. With August drills now into the second week, head coach Jim Grobe says competition for the starting job is wide open.

While Wake Forest is thin on offense, it is thinner on defense. The Demon Deacons return just four of their top 10 tacklers from 2009. Safety Cyhl Quarles is the Deacons' top returning tackler after ranking second on the team with 62 stops as a sophomore last season. Linebacker Matt Woodlief was fourth on the team last year with 52 stops, while defensive end Tristan Dorty finished seventh with 41 tackles.

Wake Forest 2010 outlook: The Demon Deacons came up short of a winning record going 5-7, and missing the bowl season for the first time in three years. The teams prospects for improving on last years record are slim. With this team, Wake Forest will be lucky to win four games.
