2010 Heisman Trophy Odds Mark Ingram 3.5 to 1 Odds to Win: With the start of the 2010 college football season exactly three weeks away, the Heisman talk is starting to gain a little steam. The favorite to take home the Ed Smith modeled trophy this season is last year's winner, Alabama running back Mark Ingram. Mark Ingram had some steep competition for last year's Heisman as the list of finalists including previous winner Tim 
Tebow and previous finalist Colt McCoy. Also on the docket were Stanford standout Toby Gerhart and Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Ingram, who received 227 first place votes, won out, though, besting Gerhart by a mere 28 points.
Given his contributions to Alabama's undefeated regular season and SEC Championship Game massacre of Florida, Ingram's first place finish was not that big of a surprise. The Flint, Michigan native wrapped up the year, including the Crimson Tide's 37-21 victory over Texas in the BCS National Championship Game, with 1658 rush yards and 17 touchdowns. Ingram also reeled in 32 receptions (third on the team) for 334 yards and three scores.
Ingram, who will again share the backfield with Trent Richardson (751 yards, eight touchdowns last year as a true freshman) this year, will operate behind an offensive line that returns three starters from last season's stellar unit. The 20 year old, who broke a three year quarterback Heisman win streak with last year's victory, is not concerned about becoming a repeat winner, though. He insists that the team's performance trumps his own every time.
"[I just] focus on being the best player I can be for my team winning games," Ingram said. "That's all that really matters."
