Ohio Bobcats 2010 College Football Predictions – MAC Odds 2010

Ohio Bobcats 2010 College Football Predictions – MAC Odds 2010: Head Coach Frank Solich has done some good things in Athens since arriving there almost six years ago, but last season's 9-5 record and conference championship game appearance top the list. The former Nebraska leader is hoping for more of the same this year, with the exception of the Bobcats MAC title game loss. 2010 College Football Predictions at BetUS.com have Ohio listed as a +400 moneyline favorite to win the conference this season.

The Bobcats matched their best record of the Frank Solich era last year with nine wins and five losses, including a 7-1 tally in Ohio Bobcats 2010 College Football Predictions - MAC Odds 2010conference play. The team has a definite opportunity to duplicate 2009's efforts with 12 starters and a whopping 64 lettermen back in Athens.

Ohio's offense suffers a big loss with the departure of quarterback Theo Scott, who threw for 2369 yards and 20 touchdowns last season; however, there is good competition at the position between junior Phil Bates and senior Boo Jackson heading into the 2010 slate. Bates is an Iowa State transfer who has never taken a snap for the Bobcats while Jackson completed 17 of 30 passes last season for 194 yards and one touchdown.

The offensive line returns three starters, which should lead to some improved rushing numbers given that the team only averaged 3.4 yards per carry in 2009. The receiving corps loses its top performer in Taylor Price, but still has three senior wideouts in Steven Goulet, Terrence McCrae, and LaVon Brazill that will help the transition of either Bates or Jackson to the starting signal caller role.

The Bobcats defense gave up the same number of yards per game last year that it did in 2008; however, the unit allowed six fewer points per contest. With six starters and 34 lettermen back, the defense could match 2009's production level. The front seven will be improved if nothing else with the return of its leading tackler, linebacker Noah Keller (115 tackles, two sacks), as well as the entire starting defensive line (Stafford Gatling, Marcellis Williamson, Ernie Hodge, Dak Notestine).

Ohio's 2010 Schedule: Wofford, Toledo, at Ohio State, at Marshall, at Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Akron, at Miami, OH, Louisiana, Buffalo, at Temple, at Kent State.

2010 College Football Predictions: 8-4 Overall, 6-2 Conference, Second Place MAC East
