2010 College Football Predictions Odds to Win ACC: Georgia Tech surprised last season, winning its first outright ACC football title since 1990. The Yellow Jackets should be solid again this year; however, most college football odds makers are not expecting a repeat from Paul Johnson's squad, instead favoring the Hurricanes of Miami. 2010 College Football Preditictions at BetUS.com have The U listed as a +240 moneyline favorite to win the ACC Championship.
Miami Hurricanes (+240): College football fans and pundits alike have been looking for a Hurricane rebound since Randy
Shannon took over the program almost four years ago. Miami made its biggest strides toward a return to greatness last season, putting together a 9-4 record. Shannon's squad still finished third in the ACC's Coastal division, though, with a 5-3 conference record.
Miami has 13 starters and 51 lettermen back this year, including Heisman candidate Jacory Harris, which should give the team its best shot yet at winning an ACC title. Also increasing the Hurricanes title chances is a schedule that includes home games against the league's best teams (Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech) with the exception of Georgia Tech.
Florida State Seminoles (+275): Jimbo Fisher officially takes over at FSU this year and with 15 starters and 43 lettermen back on campus, he has an opportunity to do some good things. Many expect the Seminoles to secure a spot in the ACC Championship Game, despite the fact that the team finished 7-6 overall and 4-4 in conference action last year.
Quarterback Christian Ponder, also a Heisman candidate, returns for his senior season after a solid, but injury shortened junior campaign. Ponder, who threw for 2717 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009, will lead an offense that averaged 30.1 points and 421 yards per contest a season ago, giving the team every chance to compete at a high level in the Atlantic Division.
